Subtraction Bingo Card Maker


School teachers are almost always searching for interesting methods, which can be used in their classrooms, which can be used as a means of practising subtraction. An option that many teachers are today applying in their classes is to play a variation of bingo. Subtraction bingo is conducted exactly like the standard game of bingo but with one important difference - the bingo cards contain numbers which are the solutions to the teacher's subtraction questions instead of the typical numbers used in bingo. Every student in the class is given one of these cards, the teacher plays the part of the bingo caller, but of course reading out subtraction questions rather than the numbers on the cards, and thus you proceed with the game. The winner is determined according to the standard rules for bingo, except of course numbers only count as crossed off if they have been crossed off as a result of solving a subtraction question.

The key thing you will need to play subtraction bingo is to get hold of bingo cards printed with the numbers which are the solutions to the teacher's problems. You may well worry that this could be a major obstacle. Luckily you can print some customised subtraction bingo cards easily: your computer and some bingo card maker software. All you need to do is download and install the program on a PC, and you can print-out the cards with just a few minutes work.

To summarise, more and more K-12 teachers are finding that bingo can easily be applied classroom math practise. It is an interesting activity, but with educational value: and it is an option that you should think about too!
