• In all versions of the game, each player is given their own bingo card. The objective of the game is to be the first player to achieve a line of five marked off items on your card, whether that line is horizontal, vertical or diagonal.
  
  
• In the simpler versions of the game, the bingo cards are printed with the names of the members of the group, one name per square. The teacher (or organizer) goes round the group, asking one person at a time to stand up, tell the others a little bit about themselves, and finish by saying their name. As the names are called out, players mark corresponding squares off their cards, and when a player achieves a winning line he shouts "Bingo!". However, a bingo only counts if the player claiming it can identify those players whose names form the winning line on his bingo card.
  
  
• In another, slightly more complex, version of the game, the bingo cards are printed with descriptions, hobbies, or activities instead of names (for example, "owns a dog", "can play guitar", "is a vegetarian"). The players then circulate among themselves introducing themselves to other players, and trying to find people who match these descriptions. If they find a match, that player writes their name in the appropriate square on their bingo card. However there is a catch: Each name can only be used once per bingo card - so this encourages players to circulate and meet as many people as possible so as to fill their cards.
