Addition Bingo Card Maker

Math teachers are always searching for enjoyable ideas, which they can use to their classes, which can help with practising additions. One option that an increasing number of teachers are now trying is to play a variant of the game of bingo. Addition bingo is conducted just like normal bingo but with one important difference, namely that the bingo cards are printed with numbers that are the solutions to the teacher's chosen addition problems rather than the ordinary numbers used in bingo. Every one of the students is given one of these cards, the teacher takes the role of bingo caller, but calling out addition problems rather than the bingo numbers directly, and you proceed with the game. The winner is determined according to the standard rules of bingo, except of course items only count as marked off if they have been marked off as a result of correctly solving one of the addition problems.

The key thing you will need to play a game of addition bingo is to obtain a set of bingo cards printed with the numbers which are the answers to the teacher's problems. This might well sound like a significant obstacle. But, the good news is that you can print-out custom addition cards very easily - a PC and some bingo card maker software. All you need to do is install the software on your computer, and you could print-out your cards with only a few minutes effort.

In short, many K-12 teachers are learning adapted variations on the game of bingo can easily be applied practising math. These teachers are discovering that it is an interesting activity, but also containing educational value: and I would strongly suggest you think about giving addition bingo a go!
